I played this course a number of years ago.
“Awesome” is all that is needed.
It seems like only yesterday that Justin Rose finished 4th at The Open as a 17 year old, only to struggle big time as a young pro.
You have to have a complete game to win at Cog Hill and Rose does. I was happy to see him close to the deal as he has had trouble doing that. Another collapse after leading through 54 would have obviously been bad and it looked like it might happen.
I am starting not to hate the playoffs. I found all of the mathematical scenarios the announcers were showing for both advancing in the playoffs and making the President’s Cup added to my enjoyment of watching the golf.
Felt bad for The Spider missing that short par putt on 18 to miss advancing.
Hopefully I can grow on the golfing public like the playoffs have grown on me.
Hypothetically, I care about the guy who was only 4 under for the event, who needed to birdie the last two holes to advance and have a shot at moving up the President’s cup standings.
Two time World Long drive champion Jamie Sadlowski made the cut at the Nationwide Event in Boise with a scintillating 66 and a chip in on the 36th hole to make the cut on the number.
I am thrilled for him and his success. Sincerely.
I would be disingenuous if I didn’t state my disappointment with being a little ahead of my time. The amount of publicity and popularity I would have gotten today from my accomplishments would have been life changing.
I should have just played better…and now hopefully I can help others play better.
